Meet the founder
Amanda Kingsbury
Interior designer, design professional and founder of Mind Matter Alt.
Amanda Kingsbury is an interior designer, design professional and founder of Mind Matter Alt.
With a background in sustainable interior design and extensive experience in architectural materials and the built environment, Amanda has spent her career immersed in the spaces, materials and design decisions that shape how people live, work and experience their surroundings.
Mind Matter Alt brings this experience together with her ongoing exploration of neuroaesthetics, neurospatial design and environmental psychology.
Her approach begins with a question:
How can we design our environments to better support who we are, how we want to feel and where we’re going?
Our approach & ethics
Thoughtful design. Responsible practice. Human experience at the center.
At Mind Matter Alt, we believe the spaces we inhabit can influence how we feel, think, and experience everyday life. Our approach draws from interior design, environmental psychology, neuroaesthetics, and an evolving body of research into the relationship between people and their environments.
Our work is grounded in curiosity, continuous learning, and respect for individual experience.
We recognize that no two people experience a space in exactly the same way. Culture, accessibility, personal preferences, financial circumstances, and the realities of shared living all inform our recommendations.
Our professional boundaries are intentional. Mind Matter Alt provides environmental advisory and education—not psychological assessment, mental health treatment, medical advice, or clinical therapy. We do not diagnose conditions or promise therapeutic outcomes.
We prioritize informed consent, privacy, and transparency in how personal information and imagery are used.
We build our spaces. Our spaces build us.
Mind Matter Alt is a personal space advisory and educational platform exploring the relationship between our minds, our environments and the way we live.
Creating a more supportive environment doesn’t always require a complete redesign. Sometimes it begins with noticing what isn’t working and discovering one thoughtful alternative.
We build our spaces. Our spaces build us.
